Flatback Syndrome

Also known as Failed Back, Straight Back.

Flatback Syndrome is a condition of the spine in which there is a loss of normal curvature.  The malalignment of the spine can lead to symptoms of pain and fatigue and affect upright posture.

Flatback Syndrome



  • Low back pain
  • Low back fatigue
  • Occasional leg/buttock pain
  • Difficulty with standing upright
  • Poor core and back stability

Tests may include:

  • X-rays
  • CT Scan


  • Unfortunately, the problem is a structural issue with the spine and there are no non-surgical means of correcting Flatback Syndrome.
